Project collaborators Ensemble Pro Victoria bring Charles Butler’s Melissomelos to life in Newcastle University’s King’s Hall, February 2024. This was perhaps the first complete public performance for four centuries (indeed, possibly the first ever). Founded in 2015 and directed by Toby Ward, EPV specialise in early music, and have collaborated with Magnus Williamson on three CD recording projects, all released by Delphian: Music for Tudor Kings and Queens (2021), Tudor Music Afterlives (2022) and Henry VIII on Tour (2025). In February 2024 they were joined by recorder players Harriet Gilfillan, Tim Bell, Ian Jackson, and Kate Bredin.
